"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

I second NiennaSurion. You've got great skill on your own. Keep at it because every artist can maximize his or her potential to the point mastery. Beyond mastery is the beginning of a brand new and unique style. You can reach that.
As for JJ, we've been friends for years outside of the net, we sometimes send silly pictures at each other, and he draws me a picture for my birthday. So I wouldn't say they are commissions as such
